Spring Break, part 1

Who knew that spring break would include so much rain! What is up with all the rain we are getting? I thought we lived in the desert?! We've had fun anyway. Especially when it clears up for a few days! Thursday we went to Snow Canyon. I love Snow Canyon. We took advantage of hiking up Johnson Canyon, since the trail closes on Monday. It was a beautiful trail. We went with the Nielsens, the Wrights, and the Lymans. The kids had a great time. This is a picture of Karly and Jackson at the very top of the trail above a little pool of water.

Then we ate lunch before setting out for the sand dunes. They had so much fun! Fun for hours! We met up with the Priors and Heaps! Stacy had her sister-in-law (Diane Budge Heaps), who I knew from my ward growing up, and her friend, that Sunni Lyman knew. What a small world. But I've learned not to take pictures at the sand dunes...
But we do take the now traditional picture on our way out:

Sorry, we didn't get everyone...
Then to get our full $5.00 entry fee monies worth, the kids I went to the petrified sand dunes. At the top were a bunch of pools of water (from all of our forementioned rain) and they did good until the end when they HAD to walk through them. So they all got to the car with wet, cold, muddy feet. So much FuN!

Plus we found ant island from A Bug's Life!

It looks like you had a great time even with the rain! We are waiting for warmer weather to take in some of our favorite adventures. You are lucky you can go all year round.
