The last 1000 miles

Well, most of you are blogging about Halloween and here I am catching up from summer still. But I needed to finish up our big trip. So if you've forgotten where I left off...we had just gotten back from camping. We took a day or two to rest and then we took off for a visit to BOISE! I was a little apprehensive because I LOVE/LOVED Boise. And I hate the drive. But off we went! When we arrived we drove by the old homesteads. Here is our first home in Boise:

It was quite strange to be back and see all the old spots and all of the changes. The kids were hungry so we went to grab some KFC and I actually had a break down at that moment. Boise was such a great place for us and there are so many memories there that I suddenly was overwhelmed by all of it and bawled for about 10 minutes in the parking lot of KFC. The kids weren't sure what to do but then I pulled it back together and we continued on. After, we went to a couple of our favorite parks to help get all the wiggles out (are they ever all out of boys).

We stayed with our amazing friends, the Clarks. You guys are awesome- THANKS! We had lots of fun going to the kids favorite spots and seeing some of the ol' friends and I regret that I didn't see as many of you as I wanted but there was so little time..so much to do.. so many kids to try to keep happy. It was a fun visit and it gave me a little perspective to go back. Thanks to the Clarks for being such a great family!




We also stopped at the Boise Zoo before hitting the road. Bonus it was Thursday so we got a discount (who knew) and it only cost like 7 bucks to get us all in!




This last one they are posing like penguins, hence, the serious faces. Have you ever seen a penguin smile?
We went back to Salt Lake, regrouped for a day. Took Karly to Instacare for an infected earring that had to be pulled out the back of her ear (yes, the whole earring came out the back of her ear), passed out at Instacare(me, not her), spent one more night and then drove back home to finally all be back together. It was lots of fun and we made some great memories! We pulled in the driveway the mileage read 2021 miles. What a trip!
